Shoe of the Week: Elina Linardaki Penny Lane Sandal

‘Tis the season for spontaneous escapes, festival frolicking, and colorful getaways. And Elina Linardaki’s party-on-your-feet gladiators are the epitome of carefree summer living. The Greek designer has been quietly crafting sandals in Athens since 2006. We’re lusting after all her festive footwear, but the “Penny Lane” gladiator is the crowd favorite. We’re seeing them seaside on the famously fashionable feet of bloggers big and small.

Linararadki credits the inspiration behind her design to the “Beatles Magical Mystery Tour, the Moroccan spice markets, and outdoor music festivals.” Her handcrafted leather gladiators are decorated with homemade friendship straps, pom poms, tassels, and semiprecious stones like coral and turquoise. And the best part is, no two pairs are exactly alike.

Major brands like Zara were quick to pick up on the trend, but we’re all for the “handmade in Greece with love” options on eBay.

What do you wear with a shoe with so much personality? We suggest pairing it with a simple black dress, or going full summer holiday mode. Now all you need is a mojito and a ticket to Mykonos.
