If Picasso’s Blue Period was reinterpreted as our new favorite fall style, this outfit would embody everything moody, broody, and untouchably chic that we’re looking for right now. First of all, we appreciate the fact that this street style star paired blue with black. Maybe it’s the rebel inside of us, but we can’t help but want to high-five this fashionista for her daring clash of colors.
Black Dior “So Real” sunglasses and black platform Mary Jane pumps anchor the mostly blue ensemble. Navy blue takes the form of a grosgrain ribbon securing a feather to the side of a felt fedora, a caped peacoat, and nearly black tights. A royal blue Saint Laurent bag and multi-blue colored geometric sweater dress complete this cheeky #OOTD.
But our favorite part has to be the borrowed-from-the-boys vibe of her hat, coat, and bag—balanced by the girlishness of her dress, tights, and shoes. There’s something about cooler weather that makes this kind of masculine-feminine play work especially well, maybe because menswearish staples can feel like armor against the cold. How ‘bout you, though—how do you make dresses work in winter?
