The Top Handbag Trends Spotted at New York Fashion Week

When it comes to New York Fashion Week, the real show is on the street. There’s nothing we love more than clocking the crowds between the shows, and reporting back to you on what we see. First up, handbags. So often, these are the pieces that make the looks we love. The result? We no longer underestimate the power of a stunning, statement-making bag—and neither should you. Even better, this season’s trends look like they may have staying power. Read on to see if you agree, then tell us in the comments below.

1. Candy colors. Structured or soft, any silhouette goes when you’re rocking rainbow brights.

2. Playful embellishments. Flowers, stickers, patterns, rhinestones, studs. The more eye-catching, the merrier.

3. Vintage gems. Time to fish out your mom’s old Coach and Bottega bags. Seek out ’70s, ’80s, and ’90s styles and revive them with a little leather conditioner.

4. Modern classics. We all need one (or four). Look for clean-lined silhouettes in updated neutrals like cognac and denim.

5. Chanel, forever. Whether you’ve lucked into a vintage tweed style or this season’s newest backpack, nothing tops Chanel.

Stay tuned for more street style trend reports straight from the front lines of NYFW. In the meantime, see more handbags we heart.
