5 Ways to Wear Flares This Fall

Apparel, Outfit Ideas, What's Trending  /   /  By Ashley Mariano

It’s no secret that a ’70s revival trend is in full force. From earthy hippie chic to retro glam-rock styles, we are loving all these throwback looks. That said, the #1 pant to try this fall is pretty tricky. It’s the flares, of course. And whether you want to absolutely embody your mom’s vintage look or maybe just experiment a more minimalist approach to bell bottoms, we’ll help you pull off the look.

1. Go Classic

Flares and platform sandals? They’re a match made in heaven circa 1970. On balmy autumn days, top off the look with a tucked-in tee. When the weather cools, add a slim sweater, swap the sandals for closed-toe mules, grab a wide brim hat, and you’re good to go.

2. Think Blue

The denim-on-denim look is a mainstay here at the eBay Fashion offices. Pair your flares with a chambray shirt or rock that classic American staple—the denim jacket. What shoes? You can’t go wrong with western-influenced ankle booties.

3. Bold & Boho

If you’re feeling free and easy, try a slim cropped sweater with a pair of printed bell bottoms. Finish with fall-ready clogs for extra boho flair.

4. All Business

Here’s your go-to office formula: flared trousers, a soft, silk top in a neutral color, a dark blazer, and pointed-toe stilettos. You’re sure to spark envy in the hearts of less adventurous dressers.

5. Saturday Style

Nope, we’re not over the overall trend. While the relaxed boyfriend style was a big hit last year, skinny flares are the way to go this year. Keep it simple with a classic cotton tee underneath. And let your hair air dry for that perfectly undone look. When it gets a bit chillier, reach for your favorite leather moto jacket and you’re ready to rock the weekend.
