Amy Soderlind

Persons of Interest, Storytellers  /   /  By Roxanne Fequiere
Occupation:

Stylist/Writer, Refusestolabel.com

*What she’s wearing:

Vintage boys’ jacket, vintage velvet pants, vintage black leather belt, Rachel Comey shoes

Hometown:

Mendocino, CA

Describe your style:

Bohemian, rock ‘n’ roll, tomboy... anything that doesn't take too much thought. I like easy and comfortable, but there always has to be the special piece/print/shoe.

How do you translate your look from the workplace to the weekend?

I’m lucky to have a job with no uniform. My days go to nights on a daily without much thought, and my weeks trickle into my weekends with no change at all. Throwing a chunky heel on or a lip stain will always make me feel more put together. Weekend wear always involves vintage boots, old Levi’s 501s, and a hat or scarf.

What's in your makeup bag?

Jojoba oil, NARS lip stain, Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer, Benefit mascara, NutriBiotic skin serum.

Latest obsession:

Eight hours of sleep every night, writing everyday, and cooking all my meals at home. It’s what makes me happiest, but it’s so very hard.

Your saved eBay search words:

Vintage Turkish jewelry, Navajo rugs, Acne, Isabel Marant, Chloé.

Who are your style icons?

Jane Birkin, Françoise Hardy, and Janis Joplin.

Next on your must-buy list:

A long velvet coat.

What’s at the top of your wish list?

Chloé’s Spring 2014 collection. All of it.

What’s one piece you plan to keep forever?

All the turquoise jewelry my mother has handed down to me. I never take it off.

What can’t you see yourself wearing, ever?

Pink. Anything pink. Ruffles, frills…can’t do it. Though I must say, I really do admire those that can.

Favorite eBay find ever:

Chloé Susanna boots and heaps of vintage Levi’s 501s that fit juuuuust right.

You collect…

Dreams and memories. Men’s hats, too.

Dream getaway:

Bali every year with my love.

Song most played on your iPod:

“Long Run” by The Staves and The Rolling Stones most of the time/always.

Favorite city to shop in:

Buenos Aires.
