On Friday, we had the pleasure of attending Nicole Miller’s Spring 2015 show at New York Fashion Week—and of course, we want to share what we saw with you!
The theme was Flying Down to Rio, the screen showed palm tree cutouts and the catwalk was decorated with boldly graphic, pseudo psychedelic, wavy black and white stripes.
The music kicked off strong and haunting with H.S.K.T by Sylvan Esso. The next song, Market by OY, transported you to a faraway land. Then Superlove by Charli XCX made you want to jump up and dance. The show rounded out with a touch of Frenchy kitsch, as Je Vais a Rio by Claude Francois played during the final walkthrough.
We always love to notice the beauty statements on the runway. This show featured minimal makeup and piecey, messy hair. It was beachy hair—but decidedly straight—as curls might have been too girly with the sexy vibe of the clothes. This was a collection of the hottest wear-to-work pieces you could possibly get away with at the office. There were tailored cutout dresses and slim, cropped sweaters paired with pencil skirts. There were flirty ruffle flourishes and a standout wavy-striped trench coat. There was a slew of sexy shifts in tropical colors and fun prints featuring parrots and pineapples. Bold hits of city-chic black and white tempered the wild, jungle-hot vibe of the prints.
Scroll down to see a few of a our favorite looks. Then watch the full final walkthrough as captured by #MBFW. Just mute their music and play Je Vais a Rio for the full effect!
