Award season is in full swing, and my favorite show is the Academy Awards. I love to gather my girlfriends at my place, make a few treats and watch the red carpet to anticipate what everyone is wearing. This year, I decided to try a new twist on popcorn, and do it two ways to satisfy our sweet and savory cravings. Both are so easy to make and fun to enjoy with friends!

  • 6 cups of popped popcorn
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 1/3 cup light brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons light corn syrup
  • 8 large marshmallows
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 teaspoon cinnamon + 2 ½ granulated sugar (mixed in a bowl)

1. Add the popped popcorn in a large bowl. Set this bowl aside. Then, add the corn syrup, brown sugar, butter, marshmallow, and vanilla into a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir continuously, until all is melted.

2. Remove from heat, then pour over the popcorn. Evenly coat the popcorn.

3. Line the baking sheet with parchment paper. Then, quickly add the coated popcorn onto the baking sheet. Spread evenly.  Sprinkle the cinnamon/sugar mix over the popcorn. Let it cool before serving.
