The braided updo. The charming unibrow. The bright Mexican blouse. Every year, someone’s Frida Kahlo is one of our favorite low-key Halloween costumes. But caricatures aside, the woman was a fashion genius. Remember that moment in Julie Taymor’s beautiful biopic was when Frida ditched her classic white wedding dress in favor of a rich, emerald green number at the last possible moment? Let’s face it, she lived for color and could accessorize—with such gorgeous combinations of ribbons and flowers—like no one else.
