Here’s To You, Blue!

Apparel, Most Wanted, What's Trending  /   /  By Sarah Wetmore

On May 20, 1873, Levi Strauss and Jacob Davis patented the process of putting copper rivets in pants. 142 years later, the integrity of the original blue jean has yet to be topped. Levi Strauss’ stamp of authenticity and craftsmanship can be found in every pair of Levi’s, from the white fabric known as selvage inside the cuff of 501® jeans, to the famous red Tab on the right back pocket (if there’s a big “E” on the tab, the jeans are from before 1971), to the sole pocket on the chest of a jacket (if the jacket lacks a red Tab, it’s from before the mid-1930s!).

If you happen to be in San Francisco near Levi’s Plaza on a weekday just after 5pm, consider yourself lucky to stumble upon what becomes a sort of insider fashion show as Levi’s employees stream out of the headquarters office. Inspiration is truly in the air as this honest discovery of the many modern ways to wear Levi’s like it’s your job unfolds.

Put your personal style stamp on a pair of Levi’s today. Pick up a white denim skirt and fray the hemline with a cheese grater for an updated look, or buy a pair of vintage jeans and have your tailor taper them for this season’s must-have Levi’s HQ-approved style. Celebrate the birthday of the original blue jean by shopping our Levi’s eBay Collection today.
