It’s Joy Adaeze here, blogger of JoyLovesFashion.com. Earlier this week, I let you in on Day 4 and 5 of my adventures at New York Fashion Week. Here is a rundown of Days 6 through 8: everything from a major print party at Clover Canyon to Betsey Johnson’s cheeky models. Check it out below!
My intern Victorya snapped a pic of my look today. Im wearing an H&M tee, ASOS printed pencil skirt that I got on eBay, snakeskin Steve Madden wedges (another fab eBay purchase!), my trusty Khirma Eliazov clutch (I’m in love with it). Other accessories of the day: vintage African headwrap my mom wore in the 70s, Mercura mirror monkey sunnies, and this awesome statement necklace from eBay!
I love layering gold rings! This was a fun combo.
The highlight of my day was the Narciso Rodriguez show. He is a wonderful designer who really knows how to make a woman look and feel beautiful.
Here is my fave look from the collection! I love the clean lines and color blocking. It’s sexy without being over the top.
Afterwards, I headed back to my Harlem apartment for some beauty sleep! Fashion week may be winding down but I want to make the most of days 7 & 8. Until tomorrow!
I started off my day with Clover Canyon‘s colorful presentation. I wore a dress by the Los Angeles designers on Day 2 and am a big fan of their whimsical digitalized prints. So, of course I couldn’t wait to see what they had in store for Spring 14!
I loved how this collection incorporated sheer overlay which added a cool 3D feel. How amazing is this crop top look?! #Need!
A quick peek into the Lincoln Center tents! Always so much going on.
A hopped on the subway and headed downtown to meet my photographer Shanita Sims for a few snaps of the day’s look!
I’m wearing a silk turban from my upcoming line, an H&M shirt and necklace, ASOS pants, Preen for Aldo heels, Khirma Eliazov clutch, and Mercura mirror monkey shades! It was the hottest day of NYFW and I wanted to wear loose clothing that was breathable. Plus, I left my shirt halfway unbuttoned, which helped! Lol.
Time to head to Betsey Johnson! Her shows are always fun and theatrical. Betsey is awesome. I got the chance to meet her on Day 2 at Daily Front Row’s Fashion Media Awards and I absolutely love her. And she gives the most epic gift bags!
This year at Betsey: big pink hair, silver lips and fingerless glove = totally 80’s fab!
Betsey and a model during her finale! Great show, Bets!
Time for B Michael America! Sitting front row and can’t wait for the show to begin! B is an incredibly talented couturier and ready-to-wear designer who I met on Monday night at Cameron Silver’s DECADES book party. I also attended his show last season and reviewed it for HelloBeautiful.com.
I am a huge fan of the B Michael’s casual and sophisticated menswear for Spring 14! This outfit would look great on my boyfriend.
Cocktail time! These dresses are so elegant and chic.
The Legendary Bob Mackie model and runway coach, Lu Sierra, closed the show and it was magnificent!! She is stunning!
Backstage time! I interviewed B Michael and got the 4-1-1 on his inspiration for Spring which was sparked by a recent trip to Paris. And of course, I HAD to snap a pic with the star of the show, Lu Sierra!
Amazing Day 7! Let’s wind it down for Day 8.
It’s the last day of NYFW! What a whirlwind it’s been.
It was incredibly rainy but I made it out to Patricia Field‘s California in NYC party celebrating the stores’ California designers: Rikvilla, Dimepiece LA, Hologram City, Jonathan Burdine, Rojas, Adeen, and Joseph Anthony. It was my first time at the store so I was excited to take a look!
I’m a stickler for gold necklaces!
I’ll have one of each, please.
Getting a bit wigalicious.
That’s a wrap for NYFW! I had so much fun sharing my daily experiences with you. For more pictures of the week, check out my blog: JoyLovesFashion.com. Until next season!
