Describe your style:

Increasingly bohemian. I love really beautiful things, put together imperfectly.

How do you translate your look from the workplace to the weekend?

My workdays are often evenings and weekends, so my look varies a lot depending on where I happen to be and with whom.

In Wine Country, I tend to live in denim paired with a great boot (huge fan of Golden Goose) and silk blouses from Vanessa Bruno, Chloé, or Isabel Marant. If I'm in San Francisco, which is always inevitably freezing, I dress in lots of layers, so a well-cut blazer and scarf are in constant rotation. I love dressing for New York or Paris the most, though—lots of black, structured pieces from Margiela or Dries Van Noten, leather leggings, andridiculously impractical shoes.

What’s in your makeup bag?

3Lab Perfect Cream moisturizer, multiple sunscreen options, Clé du Peau concealer, YSL Touché Éclat highlighter and foundation, NARS and Tom Ford eyeshadows (love the mink one), NARS’ “Orgasm” blush and “Laguna” bronzer, Shu Uemura eyelash curler, old-school Maybelline mascara, and poppy-red lipstick from that I dab on a bit messily with my finger. And Le Labo Rose 31 perfume, always.

Latest obsession:

I’ve been looking for a stylish, but not blingy in any way, carry-on bag for ages. A friend had this perfect, black canvas bag from WANT Essentials de la Vie, and I want the entire line. All of it.

Your saved eBay search words:

WANT Essentials de la Vie, Isabel Marant, Margiela boot (I’m obsessing about one that got away).

Who is your style icon?

Dree Hemingway always looks great. Erin Wasson is amazing. Anna Mouglalis, Lagerfeld’s muse. Lou Doillon. But Kate Moss is my favorite.

I’m always drawn to women who express themselves fearlessly through fashion. I recently saw an older woman in our little, local coffee shop dressed in black patent knee-high boots and ruffles and feathers…to the nines, on a Monday morning, in the country. Do your thing.

Next on your must-buy list:

Someone stole my favorite, perfect black blazer from a party. It’s a high bar, and I’m still looking for its replacement (grumpily). I also need to update my denim a bit, and there is a great pair of distressed ecru Acne jeans that would be a nice break from all of winter’s navy and black.

What’s at the top of your wish list?

Lingerie from Louis Vuitton, Saint Laurent’s black pantsuit, and a crocodile Fendi “Peekaboo” bag.

What’s one piece you plan to keep forever?

A black feather cape by Martin Margiela.

Favorite eBay find ever:

A vintage Christian Dior fox fur collar.

What can’t you see yourself wearing, ever?

Polka dots.

You collect…

Antique textiles, hats (I love the sun, my skin is less enthusiastic), and books of all sorts.

Dream getaway:

I think I was a gypsy in a past life…that list is a long one, but right now, I really want to explore Marrakech.

Song most played on your iPod:

Lately, it’s been “Hollywood Forever Cemetery” by Father John Misty.

Favorite city to shop in:
