NYFW Street Style: The ‘70s-Inspired Color Scheme We’re Dying to Try

Persons of Interest, Street Style  /   /  By Sarah Wetmore

What do you get when you mix light blue denim, crisp white, and olive green? A gorgeous set of new neutrals, that’s what! We spotted this oh-so-’70s  trio twice yesterday outside the NYC Spring ‘16 shows. (You know what that means…one more sighting and it’s officially a trend.)

Here at Style Stories, we’re fully embracing fashion’s throwback ‘70s moment, and this is just one more way to rock a vintage vibe. Speaking of light blue denim, there are nearly infinite ways to wear this classic fabric right now, from a long belted layer to a raw-edge crop top. Need some celebrity proof? Gigi Hadid was recently photographed having a fangirl moment at the US Open and was seen sporting a frayed chambray top with darker denim trousers and a silk red printed scarf. We reported last month, “Unfinished is the new black, and ankles are the new cleavage,” two predictions that ring true this fashion week. So, what do you say? Blue, white, and olive green…Can you dig it?
