Today our guest blogger is Sonia Evers from The Not Vanilla. We love her sense of style—and humor!
8AM: I normally read The New York Times when I wake up in the morning, but during Fashion Week I like to get my news from Style.com. It’s a great way to catch up on any shows that I missed and is the extra perk I need (next to my coffee, of course) to gear me up for another day.
9:30AM: Snap a few photos of my outfit. Fashion Week is the perfect excuse to get a little more dressed up than usual — when else am I going to wear that ridiculous pair of 6-inch boots? — and today I opted for something particularly dressy; a black lace Tibi skirt paired with a simple black Calvin Klein t-shirt, Dannijo earrings, and traffic stopping metallic blue pumps.
11AM: Arrive at Lincoln Center for Noon by Noor. I loved all the beaded pieces from this collection, but unfortunately my photos just didn’t do the collection justice. (See my 8AM notes on Style.com for a more in-depth look at this stunning collection!)
1:30PM: Stop by my agency, Digital Brand Architects, to say hello to my manager and pick out a few goodies to get me through the rest of the week and then some!
2:30PM: My agency is literally right around the corner from City Bakery, home to the best hot chocolate in the world. Not even kidding. So, naturally, I always make it a point to stop by and indulge on a cup whenever I’m in the neighborhood.
5PM: Alice & Olivia presentation. I loved the fairytale inspiration of this collection, right down to Snow White asleep below a pile of apples. Stacey Bendet, the designer, is always a refreshing reminder to have fun with fashion.
5:45PM: Backstage at Reem Acra. I love seeing what the makeup artists use on the models. Regardless of whether or not they use every product in a look, it’s always interesting to see how they apply makeup and to listen in on whatever tips they may be dishing out to the press.
7PM: Back home to Brooklyn for some dinner and a good night’s sleep before another round of Fashion Week the next day!
