Shoe of the Week: Marco De Vincenzo Braided Velvet Sandals

We can’t think of a better way to spend a coffee break than drooling over these Marco De Vincenzo Braided Velvet Sandals. Known for his unrestrained exploration of color, unbridled fabric choices, and untamed use of texture, Italian designer Marco De Vincenzo has cemented himself as one to watch on the high fashion shoe scene.

In fact, the same year he graced the public with his designs in 2009, he was awarded Vogue Italia’s “Who Is On Next” honor for young designers, and his hot streak hasn’t cooled down since. Having cut his artistic teeth at Fendi under the tutelage of Ms. Silvia Venturini Fendi herself (in the accessory design division), Marco clearly learned from the best.

And it seems our admiration is in good company (good being a massive understatement here): Beyoncé has been spotted sporting the purple rendition of Marco’s braided velvet sandals in New York City, and during Paris Fashion Week, Italian fashion editor Giovanna Battaglia Engelbert made street style headlines in the aforementioned shoes. Although both fashion icons wore the beautiful heels with dresses, we’re thinking frayed jeans and a crisp white top or an all-black jacket and pants ensemble might be fun ways to interpret these stunners.

Either way, we’re confident a dramatic statement of taste and style know-how will follow once these braided beauties have made it into your shoe closet.

You can never have enough shoes, am I right? More drool-worthy mules this way, from Dorateymur.
