Spied on the Street: Jewel Tones + Rich Textures

Featured, Persons of Interest, Street Style  /   /  By Sarah Wetmore

So you already know that smart layers are the key to a chic yet functional winter look, but have you ever seen this process so expertly executed as witnessed in these street style snaps? This fashion lover has her winter style strategy on lock. The method she uses is simple, and one we can’t wait to recreate: pair seasonally relevant jeweltone colors (think emerald green, ruby red, and intriguing amethyst) with textures you can only get away with during cold weather months (suede, velvet, and cozy, over-the-top fringe).

Pictured items in the regal green family include a leather crossbody bag and fedora. In the rich red realm, we find a pair of bold polka dot trousers (say what!?). Through lavender-colored glasses we appreciate the sumptuous effect of velvet ankle boots that always feel completely spot-on during the holiday season.

Lastly, a tip from the pros: Anchor your deliciously indulgent jeweltone hues with stable neutrals like black, cream, and camel.
