You know those outfits you throw together (mainly from items within arm’s reach, whether that be the jacket on the back of the corner chair or the bag hanging from your doorknob or the sneakers already in the hallway) when you’re in a moderate to severe rush to get out of the house and meet friends for brunch the morning after having one or two more than you maybe should have and the group reservation is in danger of being given away, or hop in a cab and start praying they hold your plane, or meet friends around the corner who are all waiting for you to get the road trip started? You know the usual suspects: comfy pants, shoes you can hustle in, “do not disturb” shades to cover mascara smears or the designer bags under your eyes, and a bag you can throw across your body to keep your hands free for locking the door behind you, or tracking your Uber, or picking up the 5th call from your bestie and lying through your teeth saying you’re almost there.
Well this is what we wish our running behind for brunch/booking it to our boarding gate/tardy for carpool karaoke outfits looked like. Turns out all we need to do to fool everyone into thinking we laid this combo out the night before is follow one simple formula: Just add a classic white t-shirt, grey pleated trousers, star-embroidered Saint Laurent sneakers, half-rim mirrored shades, an Off-White c/o Virgil Abloh bomber jacket, and a Louis Vuitton Petite Malle, and you’ve got a truly convincing A+ athleisure ensemble. Well done! Adventures, here we come (in comfort to boot!).
