Spied on the Street: Mad-for-Plaid Dressing

Featured, Persons of Interest, Street Style  /   /  By Sarah Wetmore

Though this street style snap gives off more of a London than New York Fashion Week vibe, we’re feeling it no matter which city it hails from, where you want to recreate it, or where you want it to debut. Every fashion gal worth her salt knows Burberry is the grandmother of the red, black & camel check, but this season we’re opening ourselves up to more versions of the beloved pattern. Count this as one of the many reasons why we’re super excited to engineer countless fall outfits centered around timeless plaid this season.

Beyond her effortlessly cool plaid swing coat, the look steeped in rich pattern and texture, including soft, luxurious velvet and bold pearl-dotted detailing. It’s the kind of outfit you can pull together with yesterday’s blowout and will last a day dashing around town in 1″ buckled slides. Plus, the expert layering and color composition is spot-on.

It would be very remiss of us not to pay tribute to the lovely details that tie this ensemble together, so let’s take a closer look. Soak up the deliciousness of the Prada purse, Ms. Pacman-chic ring, royal blue watch, Cartier love bracelet, and mismatched earrings. So cool, so casual, and so going into our fall outfit lineup.
