Spied on the Street: The Dream Summer Ensemble

Featured, Persons of Interest, Street Style  /   /  By Sarah Wetmore

Ahh, summer in the city. Summer in any city, really. The image that’s immediately conjured is a gif of Olaf the Snowman melting, except in our reality, there’s no snow in sight. And dressing for 50%+ humidity this time of the year can be quite the challenge. Don’t get us wrong, we’re not complaining (we love Vitamin D as much as the next gal!), but selecting sunny separates for high summer affords a unique opportunity to display strength of mind, will, character, mascara, and wardrobe functionality.

What we love the most about this look is that is its utter breathability. From a bare neck to unencumbered shoulders and toes, this ensemble fits the bill for everything we’re seeking in an anti-humidity look.

And our strategic style star has really thought of everything: a lightweight lace tank in the most airy fabric (learn more about slip dressing here), a bright and breezy asymmetrical wrap skirt with ruffle-trimmings that’s practically built with efficient airflow in mind (not to mention it’s ideal for spontaneous sidewalk dance parties), and cobblestone strolls are no match for these laidback and fully functional sandals. Summer heat doesn’t stand a chance against this chicness.
