Spied on the Street: Transitional Autumn Dressing

Featured, Persons of Interest, Street Style  /   /  By Sarah Wetmore

With crisp air and crunchy leaves on the brain, we’re turning to more practical ensembles than the rompers and off-the-shoulder dresses we’ve been flaunting for the past few months. Yes, the fall season is about to officially commence and we’re taking critical inventory of our coziest items and daydreaming about the Insta-layouts we’ll be snapping and ‘gramming when the weather starts to chill. We’re really feeling longer sleeves, longer hemlines (don’t worry—there’s a chic way to pull them off!), and socks with heels (which, admittedly, is a look we’ve been intimidated by in the past).

We’re loving so many elements of this look, it’s hard to choose where to begin when dissecting its brilliant strategy. The circular John Lennon-esque Ray-Bans (truly a classic shape), half-tucked blouse mirroring her half-tucked hair, modest-yet-coy denim skirt with a quartet of rebelliously unbuttoned buttons, white socks with peeking stripes, and a pair of knotted stiletto sandals that provide the perfect antidote to an otherwise frumpy hemline.

The chic Cartier Love bracelet and textured envelope clutch expertly tie this sophisticated cool-weather costume together. Tell us—would you don this autumn-appropriate get-up? Because we’ll definitely be taking a cue from the relaxed yet elevated vibes going on here. Bring on fall!
