This Is the Styling Trick We Look Forward to the Most Each Fall

Winter is coming, as they say, and with its arrival comes one of the nearest styling philosophies to our hearts: layer, layer, layer. The only better feeling than wrapping ourselves in an actual blanket (because, tempting as it sounds, we suppose that’s not an entirely appropriate way to leave the house) is draping a basically-blanket sweater over our shoulders.

Now, the key to layering without looking like a swamp monster who’s crawled out of a mud pit is by entertaining the eye with a multitude of varied textures (all in the same basic color family, of course) and hints of color that pop ever so slightly but also help break up the overall visual weight of a multi-layered ensemble. We adore the thick ribbed bathrobe-esque open caped cardigan this street style star has cozied up to, and we appreciate the expert level texture game going on. How much do we love this texture game? Let us count the ways! From the elements-proof sturdy top layer to the romantic sheer top layer of the dress, and from the exotic-paneled handbag with hefty gathered fold over closure to the anything-but-basic textured tights, we’re enamored with it all! (The versatile Chelsea boots are just icing on the cake!)
