Trending: The Diamond Halo Ring

In the past few days this diamond engagement ring has been getting a ton of attention on eBay. Of course, it’s stunning—but why all the fuss?

The first reason we can see is the deep discount: 78% off is amazing, and enough for anyone to want to take a closer look. But also, this is a ring set, which means you’re essentially getting two for the price of one. Ask her to marry you and you’ll present her with ring #1. Show up at the altar and you’ll present her with ring #2.

And then there’s the white gold setting and the four Cs…

  • The cut of the center diamond is round, surrounded by brilliant-cut accent diamonds.
  • The color falls into the G/H category.
  • The clarity rates 11-12.
  • The carat is 1.10CT.

Lastly the price: $599.99, for a limited time only. Get a closer look at the listing here.

All in all, what do you think? Does this ring deserve the attention it’s getting? Would you say yes to it?

No. This is a small center diamond and lots of little ones. The color is somewhat yellowish, and there are inclusions, or carbon specks, visible to the naked eye in the stones. Better to go with a solitaire with a D to F color and VVS1 or VVS2 clarity, which has only the tiniest inclusions. One medium or small diamond of good color and clarity is always better than lots of small, inferior stones. Or consider a Moissanite solitaire, which is what I wear. It is more brilliant than diamond and never gets dull like a vs does. Plus it is entirely man-made, so it is conflict-free and non-exploitative. Plus it is much less expensive than a diamond. Stick to round cuts, as other cuts are not as attractive for this particular stone.

Be careful. The carat weight is very likely TOTAL carat weight. That center stone is not likely bigger than .25 carats. NOT a good deal in my book.

Great piece of jewelry, perfect diamond engagement ring for my other half. The price is not that expensive either and those diamonds look stunning. Now I need to find out what kind of size is right for her before I buy one.

Hand over the Chloe bag and this ring.

No! I totally agree with B. Jeancoq! Know your diamonds before buying. This is NOT a good deal, because of the type, color, etc of diamonds, and because you are looking at total carat weight. That diamond in the center is small. May as well be cz’s in this ring! At least it would look prettier as the color would be better!
